Preston, United Kingdom Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Full time

We are delighted to be able to offer the position of Pharmacy Assistant Procurement and Goods In Assistant.

This is a part time role working 27 hours per week, but there could be scope for more hours.

The role will be based within the Inpatient Pharmacy Procurement Team and be primarily office/warehouse based. You may be asked to work cross-site between RPH and CDH; a shuttle bus service is available for staff. You will be working within a dedicated team whose primary role is to obtain medication in a timely fashion for our patients.

This is a non-patient facing role, but every piece of work that you do will help to ensure our patients receive excellent care.

The core hours of duty of the team are between 8:00am and 5:00pm Monday to Friday and we will work flexibly to assign a shift pattern of 27 hours between these times. Availability will be discussed at interview.

Depending on bed capacity within the hospital, there are occasions where the volume of work requires flexibility from the team. If additional hours are worked, you will be reimbursed with additional pay or time off in lieu.

You should be a team player, show excellent attention to detail, have a can-do attitude and be confident using a computer. You will need to be well organised with excellent communication skills and demonstrate a desire to contribute towards developing our services. Previous experience in an office or warehouse setting would be advantageous, however full training and support will be provided.

We have 10000 fantastic people working hard to deliver quality services to our patients. Whatever your role, you help look after 370,000 people in our local area & give specialist care to 1.5 million people across Lancashire & Cumbria.

Working with us gives you the knowledge and sense of pride that every activity you do genuinely does make a difference to support our patients & staff, ensuring we keep thriving & delivering outstanding healthcare right across our local towns.

You’ll have access to varied development opportunities, learn new skills, meet fab people & do things you’d never have done. You’ll learn about working in a hospital, interacting with people from all different roles to build skills & enhance your career path.

You’ll make an impact, be challenged to think differently, be bold & help innovate to keep improving things. Everything we do centres around patient care which means your role is pivotal and something really to be proud of.

We are one of the largest trusts in the country, providing district general hospital services to people in Preston and Chorley and specialist care to 1.5million people across Lancashire and South Cumbria. In addition we are proud to be the regional Major Trauma Centre providing life and limb saving treatment for patients throughout Lancashire and South Cumbria.
