**Shift Patterns**:Monday
- Friday 8:30am-5pm

**Is business administration repetitive or boring?**

It’s neither, this couldn’t be further from the truth, the NHS must be well organised and keep detailed records of patients and staff across several wards. You’ll support the ability for patients or other organisations to see or speak to the right person at the right time who can give them the help they need. This could be booking an appointment, getting medical advice, or helping a patient navigate the trust when they visit.

So overall administration isn’t boring, it’s varied.

**You'll find solutions to everyday problems, such as**:

- Act as first point of contact for all client enquiries, responding to telephone and face to face enquiries in an efficient, tactful and professional manner, redirecting calls, taking action as appropriate. Liaising with internal services and partner agencies when necessary as directed.
- Carry out general reception duties where required maintaining a neat and tidy reception environment;
- Maintenance of the patient booking system in the reception function to include the preparation and arrangement of appointments including inputting of referrals ensuring all clerical work resulting is dealt with in a timely manner;
- Display and ensure availability of information sources at reception with an adequate and attractive display of front desk poster and leaflet materials to include distribution and collation of all patient surveys;
- Deal with all internal/external mail and redistribution to relevant department;
- Sell items as required. (i.e., dressings, theraband, vitamins, prescriptions, etc**)**

**What you’ll need**:

- Excellent communication skills
- both verbal and written
- Good communicator wo can follow instructions
- Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
- Previous NHS experience
- Experience of working in an administrative and receptionist / customer care role
- NHS System Knowledge
- EMIS, SystmOne (desirable)
