The post-holder will be based on the CCRF and play a central part in liaising with the ICRF on behalf of the CCRF team and in support of the Lead Clinical Research Nurse and Medical Director for the CCRF. The CCRF Operations Coordinator post is necessary to enable efficient management of the business aspects and infrastructure of the CCRF, currently undertaken by the CCRF management committee. This committee no longer has the capacity to manage the CCRF alone due to our increased workload and future work generated from our collaboration with the ICRF.

On a day-to-day basis, the post-holder will expect to oversee the general running of the CCRF alongside the Lead Clinical Research Nurse. Duties will include management of estates, service contracts and the CCRF laboratory as well as room booking and procurement for the CCRF. They will be responsible for overseeing CCRF compliance with and maintenance of health and safety standards, Good Clinical Practice and updating SOPs. The post-holder will also help to lead on the development of the CCRF within the West London Children’s Healthcare (WLCH) Alliance, involving operational matters and future planning/strategy for the unit. The post-holder will aid collaboration with all stakeholders and be a main point of contact for the CCRF.

Working alongside the Imperial Children’s Clinical Research Facility (CCRF) and its management committee, this new role of CCRF Operations Coordinator is to provide operational support to the unit, managing both the business elements and key infrastructure, to help ensure the CCRF meets its performance objectives. The role encompasses the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and other quality-related activities including patient and public involvement (PPI). The post-holder will also have responsibility for the management of the on-site laboratory, including adherence to health and safety standards, maintenance of laboratory equipment, staff training and liaison with Imperial College London and the Imperial Clinical Research Facility at Hammersmith. The role includes the strategic development of the CCRF within the West London Children’s Healthcare Alliance. The post-holder will be expected to aid collaboration and act as a key point of contact for the CCRF. The post-holder will be based on the CCRF at St Mary’s Hospital.
