**ABOUT THE ROLE**

We’re looking for Day Engagement Support Workers to carry out supported housing management duties in our service. You will be responsible for maintaining social contact and company to enhance quality of life, enhance personal safety, health and security, sustainment of tenancy, and improving financial independence and economic wellbeing to support our residents and participants back into the community.

Rota: 37.5 Hours Per Week, Flexible between Monday-Sunday, 5 Slots of 7.5 hours shift’s per week, 9am - 5pm shifts or 1pm - 5pm shifts

**ABOUT THE SERVICE**

You will be working in a 24 hour, 25-bed service in Romford, delivered in partnership with Havering Council and other local providers, supporting those who are experiencing homelessness. All admissions are jointly agreed, and placements reviewed at a weekly complex needs panel chaired by the local authority. Residents are agreed on the basis that they are:

- Single and vulnerable with multiple disadvantages - including hospital and acute discharges, drug & alcohol and mental health issues
- Street homeless with multiple disadvantages
- Aged from 18 to 55 years
- Willing to reduce the use of substances and engage with drug and alcohol treatment services

**OVERVIEW OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Act as a Key Worker, and support residents and participants in various activities, such as support plans.
- Participate in and encourage R&P’s to participate in the running and development of projects, social enterprise initiatives, raining, volunteering and work experience.
- Ensure our R&P’s understand their rights and responsibilities and have access to the right tools and resources.
- Carry out regular occupancy checks such as managing health and safety, and ensuring correct occupancy numbers.
- Tenancy Management, ensuring sign ups to tenancies, licencing agreements, taking payments, general living support.
- Develop and maintain strong internal and external relationships.
- Attend appointments with residents when required.
- Recognise signs of deteriorating mental health and initiate appropriate interventions to prevent a crisis.
- Admin will vary.

Other responsibilities than those described above may be required to be undertaken from time to time and will be expected to be performed to as long as it is within the capability and level of the position.

- IT Proficiency, ability to learn new software programs, basic Microsoft experience is required
