This vacancy is advertised by North Yorkshire County Council on behalf of Applefields School.

Applefields School are seeking to recruit multiple Teaching Assistant Level 2s for supply work at Applefields Mainsite (aged 11 to 19), Satellite Provisions at Manor School and Millthorpe School (aged 11 to 16), and Minster Provision at Askham Bryan College (aged 19 to 25) to start as soon as possible.

This post will provide general classroom support to students with moderate to severe learning needs, complex medical and physical needs, and SEMH needs.
- Be a child centred professional who has successful experience of working with children with a wide range of special educational need.
- Be part of a collaborative class team, being proactive to support pupil needs.
- Be committed to helping our students achieve the very best and become as independent as possible.
- Be able to provide effective support for the development of the students’ communication.
- Be able to develop strong relationships to support the development of the students’ personal and social independence skills.
- Support students with their personal care and welfare needs.
- Be confident supporting children with behaviours that challenge.
- Be a strong advocate of inclusion.
- Be confident to accept responsibility and work independently, able to demonstrate initiative and have flexible attitude to the challenging demands of working with children and young people with additional and complex needs.
- Be able to follow and enable the class’s curriculum under the direction of a teacher.
- Recognise children and adults as individuals as described in the SEND Code of Practice 2014.

You will be paid an hourly rate of £11.13, plus an enhancement equivalent to 12.07% of your basic hourly rate multiplied by the number of actual hours worked in the period. The enhancement reflects inclusive payment for annual leave.
