This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced school improvement professional to share their passion and expertise. You would join a dynamic team of education professionals who want the best for our children and young people on a temporary/fixed term contract for 12 months.

**About the role**

Wiltshire Council’s Education & Skills Directorate is looking to recruit a high-quality school improvement professional to support and secure improved outcomes for children and young people in Wiltshire.

You would represent the Local Authority in schools providing support and challenge to leaders, including governors, to rigorously evaluate school performance, identify priorities for improvement and plan and monitor effective change. This work is based on integrity, trust, innovation and a relentless commitment to school improvement.

Through regular visits, the role builds the school’s capacity to improve the achievement of all pupils as well as developing our hub model of school improvement. The role will enhance the work of the School Effectiveness service to support aspects of the wider School Improvement work in line with the strategic plan.

You will be instrumental in supporting groups of schools in their development journeys, building on best practice, and providing targeted support and school to school support where appropriate.

**About you**

You will have a degree with qualified teacher status (QTS) and significant post qualification experience.

Recent experience of headship and a proven record of school improvement.

Experience of OFSTED Inspections.

We will look to you to have knowledge of the statutory roles and responsibilities of schools and local authorities regarding education and school improvement

You will have up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance in relation to working with, and the protection of, children and young people.

This is a flexible part time role supporting an allocated number of schools with the operational detail to be discussed and finalised at interview.
