**We are recruiting for an Associate for the Banking COO team**

Profile Summary

You will provide highly detailed financial and business analysis to the Business Heads and General Managers of the Front Office to aid their decision making ability.

You will be surrounded by a team of business analysts providing you with the opportunity to develop your analytical skillset through the creation of regular and ad hoc management reports, analysing the performance of the multiple portfolios, and identifying key areas of strengths and weaknesses.

The Banking Chief Operating Office in Mizuho EMEA is headed by Banking Chief Operating Officer and sits directly under Deputy Head of EMEA (Head of Banking). COO is responsible for business promotion for Mizuho’s Banking business in EMEA by developing and leading business strategy and supporting front offices.

**Duties and Responsibilities**

This role is to support the Deputy Banking COO to fulfil its responsibilities as described below.

You will be particularly expected to perform the followings:

- Direct support to Deputy Banking COO for business development, including marketing and planning
- Provide full support to Deputy Banking COO roles, including delivering high quality research/analysis, leading project and developing & changing policies/procedures
- Provide operational / administrative support to the front office under Deputy COO’s direction

**Qualifications, Skills and Experience**
Essential
- Experience in banking
- Experience in strategic planning / middle office tasks
- Experience coordinating across multiple departments & function of an organization i.e. business, technology, operations, finance
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to summarize key findings
- Experience using Microsoft Office suite (Excel and Powerpoint a must)
- Experience in presentation preparation
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills with internal stakeholders
- Excellent time management and organisation skills
- Proven track record in desktop analysis and possession of a strong technical skillset
- Self-motivated with the ability to lead and inspire others to perform
- Understanding of basic compliance and operational risk controls
- Basic accounting knowledge
- Demonstrable ability to support colleagues
- Collaborative nature to contribute to a successful team performance
- High level of computer literacy and skills in data manipulation / presentation
- Language skills - English essential. Japanese is an asset, but not essential

- Basic understanding of regulatory framework
