**The Purchasing Manager role**:
As Purchase Manager, you will ensure the Material Spend for the company is placed with vendors and specifications that deliver quality products to the business and that stock levels are managed in King’s Lynn and Malacca.
You will also motivate and monitor the performance of our company's Fulfilment Team members to achieve the smooth & efficient receipt and processing of customer orders and the supply of parts to Production, both in King’s Lynn and Malacca.
**Key responsibilities**:
+ Delivering agreed objectives in-line with our Corporate Strategy.
+ Developing performance measures for Purchasing and SOP whereby, material spends, stock levels, PPV, shortages, inventory levels, vendor performance, rejects, lead times, orders loaded, value and confirmation of invoicing are monitored, accurately assessedand reported to the Operations Manager each month and implementing measures to improve performance.
+ Reviewing and creating new Vendor contracts where necessary
+ Managing obsolescence, long lead time and supply chain issues
+ Ensuring timely and accurate information on increasing material costs is communicated.
+ Ensuring that the purchasing function participates fully in the established processes for new product introduction and change control.
+ Maintaining adequate training and cross training programmes.
+ Becoming accountable for performance of the Fulfilment Team.
+ Completing and reviewing Risk Assessments for the department work area.
+ Deputising for other Managers in times of absence.
**About you**:
**Essential**:
+ Degree level qualified or hold equivalent knowledge in experience
+ Proven track record within a procurement function
+ Effective use of MRP (ERP)
+ Experience of buying suggestions/reports & POP
+ Ability to manage supplier relationships
+ Negotiation skills
+ IT competent including good working knowledge of MS Excel and MS Word
+ Highly motivated
+ Self-starter
+ Able to achieve under pressure
+ Proven leadership ability
+ Team player
**Desired**:
+ IOSH Managing Safely certified
+ CIPS Qualfied
+ Proven track record within an electronic component procurement function
+ Background within an electronic engineering or production setting
+ Sales & Purchase Order Processing (Fulfilment)
+ Good working knowledge of Epicor / ISO 9001 / CI
+ Familiar with electronic component vendors
