We are hiring a Student Researcher to work in our communications team at Edinburgh Global.

**The Opportunity**:
The role will support a specific communications project within Edinburgh Global: Education Beyond Borders (EBB). EBB delivers a programme of funding and support to ensure continued access to education for staff and students who have been displaced due to conflict, persecution or other serious human rights violations. The Student Researcher will conduct research in the University archives and other sources to find refugees or displaced people that the University has supported, welcomed, or offered sanctuary to in the past.

**Your skills and attributes for success**:

- Conduct original archival research (drawing on newspaper, archival, literary, oral and internet sources) compiling short biographies of alumni and staff from across the globe.
- Verify sources, keep accurate records of the research and any copyright/permissions
- Prioritise own workload.
- Liaise with the University Archivist, Edinburgh Global staff; share and receive project information.
- Develop skills and undertake training as needed for the role.
