**The business**:Above Adventure is a Kilmarnock based charity whose mission is to improve the health & wellbeing of our communities through sport and outreach.

We are a fully inclusive, climbing centre offering roped climbing and bouldering alongside an onsite cafe. Based in a converted church, we offer a unique and exciting workplace. We engage with a wide variety of participants of all ages and abilities, and support participants with disabilities and additional needs.

**The role**:We are looking for a motivated and experienced individual to join our team under a modern apprenticeship as a **Café Assistant**. Our modern apprentice programme is a great way to kick-start a rewarding career. On your 2-year journey you will learn lots of new skills, gain confidence and gain recognized industry qualifications. As part of this apprentice you will undertake an SVQ Hospitality and Professional cookery.

**Pay**:£10,005 per annum
**Hours**:35 hours per week, evenings and weekends will also be required

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist Café supervisor in daily operation of café
- Keeping a clean and tidy environment in all areas
- Ensuring an exceptional level of customer service is always delivered

**Essential skills/experience**:

- Passion for food and drink
- Ability to liase with colleagues and customers at all levels
- IT literate
- Compliance with Environmental Health standards and all food hygiene
- standards, including allergen information, and knowledge of healthy
- eating guidance will be important
- Administration tasks
- Any other tasks as deemed necessary by your line manager
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Friendly and outgoing
- Enjoy working with people of all ages
- Punctual multitasker
- Age 16 or over
