Climbing Centre Modern Apprentice

**The business**: Above Adventure is a Kilmarnock based charity whose mission is to improve the health & wellbeing of our communities through sport and outreach.
We are a fully inclusive, climbing centre offering roped climbing and bouldering alongside an onsite cafe. Based in a converted church, we offer a unique and exciting workplace. We engage with a wide variety of participants of all ages and abilities, and support participants with disabilities and additional needs.
**The role**: Are you looking for something a bit different or looking to start an exciting career inspiring others to enjoy sport? Our climbing centre modern apprenticeship programme is a great way to kick-start a rewarding career in the fitness industry. On your 2-year journey you will gain skills, qualifications, and confidence to enable you to become an indoor climbing instructor.
**Pay**: £10,005 per annum
**Hours**:35 hours per week, covering evenings and weekends also as required.
**Responsibilities**:
- Working in reception greeting and assisting customers
- Ensuring customers always have a welcoming and enjoyable experience
- Delivering high quality customer service to all customers, in line with organisational policies and procedures.
- Assisting climbing instructors in delivery of planned activities and instructed sessions
- General housekeeping tasks
- Other tasks as determined by your line manager and in line with your role and training
**Essential skills/experience**:
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Friendly and outgoing
- Enjoy working with people of all ages
- Be prepared to work weekends and evenings and have the resilience and stamina to fully commit to the programme
**Desirable skills/experience**:
- Current first aid certificate
- Relevant industry experience
- English & Maths qualifications
