Glasgow, United Kingdom University of Glasgow Full time

**Job Purpose**
The School of Law is seeking a passionate and collaborative individual to make a leading contribution to the efficient planning, delivery and promotion of pro bono projects and clinical legal education opportunities through the Glasgow Open Justice Centre in the School of Law. Within the GO Justice Centre, we are developing new projects aimed at engendering an awareness of social justice in students and enhancing legal skills. One such project is the Emma Ritch Law Clinic which has been designed to increase access to justice in Scotland for complainers in sexual offences cases. The clinic will offer independent legal advice and representation, and will provide innovative teaching to students, enabling the next generation of Scottish lawyers to gain critical legal and ethical skills. It will also produce valuable research, providing an insight into the difference that specialist legal advice and representation can make to in improving access to justice. Other developing projects and clinics include partnerships in wider areas of equality, human rights and social welfare law (e.g. welfare benefits, housing, community care).
The establishment of experiential learning support and external collaboration within School of Law is key element of the School of Law’s Vision, to establish itself as a leader in the development and delivery of Social Change Legal Education. This vision sits within broader framework of ongoing work across the college within the areas of Employability, Student Experience and Learning and Teaching, as well as embedding the University’s ‘World Changers Together’ Strategy. Ultimately it underpins the University’s commitment to being a civic and inclusive community which champions education as an engine for social progress.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**
1. Work closely with relevant members of staff in the School of Law and in particular those responsible for Social Change Legal Education / Clinical Legal Education in the GO Justice Centre, to ensure efficient and impactful delivery of pro bono projects, clinics and wider community engagement initiatives.
2. Undertake administrative duties, within required timescales, in support of projects and activities including, advertising and promoting projects; selection and recruitment of student volunteers;
administering relevant training, monitoring attendance and liaising with partner organisations as required.
3. Support the establishment and smooth running of clinics in the law school including liaising with referral organisations, funding bodies, supporting file management, communicating with advisory board members and administering monitoring and evaluation processes.
4. Provide administrative support as required to the newly established Practice Unit in the Emma Ritch Clinic, including monitoring and managing the use of expenditure of funding.
5. Support GO Justice Centre staff to embed wide ranging experiential learning opportunities in LLB and LLM degree programmes. This will include experiential learning course administration which follows relevant University policies and procedures, effective communication of information to students and developing good relationships with key internal and external stakeholders; co-ordinate with learning and teaching administration as required.
6. Administer and oversee quality enhancement including monitoring, feedback and evaluation of pro bono projects and activities, including data gathering to support research outputs and reporting to funders.
7. Plan events and activities including relevant student training, panel events and workshops including liaising with external speakers and other attendees as required; coordinate with the School of Law Events & Engagement Administrator and School of Law Employability Officer as required.
8. Assist with all publicity and communications in relation to pro bono student activities and events, creating outreach materials for a broad range of stakeholders to be distributed across both internal and external platforms; coordinate with the School of Law Digital Engagement Officer as required.
9. Support with establishing and maintaining web content and wider communications relevant to developing projects in the School; coordinate with the School of Law Digital Engagement Officer as required.
10. Work independently to plan and prioritise own workload, anticipating pressures points in the academic year, to ensure all deadlines are met.
11. Ensure full compliance with University-wide policies and procedures, including in relation to the management of confidential information and personal data.
12. Ensure personal style is compatible and consistent with University Values and Glasgow Professional Behavioural Framework and contributes to a culture of continuous improvement.
