The Submarine Delivery Agency (SDA) are looking for a Project Security Officer to join their Submarine Production Team (SMP), to work at Abbey Wood in Bristol.

As part of the SMP, you would be in a team at the forefront focussed on delivery of the Astute Class to the Royal Navy. The Astute Class is the largest, most advanced and most powerful class of attack submarines ever operated by the Royal Navy, combining world-leading sensors, design and weaponry in a versatile vessel. The Submarine Production team (SMP) controls the contract to build 7 Astute Class Submarines; the first four have already been handed over to the Royal Navy, one is on post-build sea trials, and the remaining two of the class are at varying late stages of construction in BAES Barrow.

As Project Security Officer, you will provide advice throughout the acquisition cycle, minimising security risks associated with the procurement of assets or services, from concept to disposal.

The role offers you the opportunity to operate in a unique and exciting environment, with exposure to interesting programmes and projects. You will also receive support with your own continuous professional development and the opportunity to develop your career in the Security specialism.

The role will require regular travel around the UK.

Due to the nature of the position, you will need to undertake Developed Vetting once in post.

**Responsibilities**
- Drafting and updating Security Aspects Letters (SALs) and/or Grading Guides.
- Liaising with the programme/project security stakeholders.
- Identification of security risks/sensitivities and implementation of effective mitigation.
- Advising on the appropriate acquisition strategy from a security perspective.
- Preparation of security inputs to approvals submissions.
- Co-ordination of effective security measures throughout the project.
- Management of information release to third parties and/or overseas
- Contractors/Consultants, including liaising with the Industry Security Advice Centre on the security clearance of contractors.
- Management of project information released into the public domain.

**Person specification**:

- Background as a Security Advisor/Consultant

It would also be great if you can demonstrate any of the following desirable qualifications:

- Security Risk Management (ISO 31001 or equivariant)
- Business Continuity Management (ISO22301)
- MSyI (desirable)
- Supply Chain Security (ISO 28000)
- Level 3 Security Management Qualification (or equivalent)

In addition to the responsibilities above, the following technical competences and behaviours will be assessed at interview:

- Making effective decisions
