**A new and highly exciting Safety Health and Environment (SHE) role within a leading Aerospace Design and Prototyping Organisation. U.K. citizens or long-term permanent residents are required for security clearance purposes.**

This is a new role within the organisation - among other tasks, you will be supporting the development of SHE practices and policies, helping with investigations, near miss reports and supporting the developing function of this new and growing department, based at their facilities in Bedfordshire. Whilst the role is challenging and wide-ranging, you will be part of a growing team of SHE professionals, and you can expect to be provided with a high level of support and development to ensure that you are equipped to meet the challenges that the role provides.

**Tasks & Accountabilities**:
As a SHE Advisor to the company Bedford site, reporting to the SHE Manager, you will be responsible for providing competent and professional safety, health and environmental advice and support to a wide range of activities and projects to support the development of the SHE Management system and SHE Culture Improvements.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Support the development, maintenance and/or deployment of the SHE management system (including objectives, processes and assurance) that compliment requirements the business Operational Framework and International SHE Standards (such as ISO14001) and supports the achievement of organisational goals.
- Provide competent and comprehensive SHE advice and support to Line Leaders within the business, enabling them to effectively manage SHE within their area(s) of responsibility.
- Support activities associated with improving SHE practice and performance within a business area, including (but not limited to): deployment and implementation of SHE Policy and Management Systems, SHE objectives and targets.
- Provision of competent SHE advice on risk management and control.
- Collation and provision of SHE performance reports (such as injuries, audits, regulatory issues), investigation and reporting of incidents in accordance with regulatory and/or customer requirements.
- Provision of an effective interface with representatives dealing with liability issues.
- Advise the business, and assist in the creation of, suitable and sufficient risk assessments for all areas of the business operations.
- Support the development and implementation of innovative SHE change programmes, ensuring consistency and effective improvement in SHE risk management and embedding a culture of continuous improvement and the sharing of best practices.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders, influencing them to appropriately consider SHE factors during decision making.
- Provide assurance for determining compliance with relevant legal, Operational Framework and SHE Management System requirements within the business.
- Deliver duties to appropriate timescales and to budget.
- Monitor the effectiveness, and provide regular reports, on all of the above to relevant stakeholders.
- Be an ambassador for cultural change within the business, able to influence and promote a positive SHE culture at all levels.

**Knowledge & Skills**

- The role holder is required to hold a comprehensive and contemporary technical understanding of safety, health and environmental management standards and practice, and relevant HSE regulatory knowledge.

The role holder will hold an in-depth understanding of SHE requirements, internal and external best practice and able to use their knowledge to articulate these in order to ensure effective deployment within their work area.

The role requires an in-depth understanding of how to influence others in order to operationalise, integrate and deliver SHE processes, projects and change in a business, through having an good knowledge of the business or site(s), a contemporary view of their deliverables and aims, the challenges they face, the developments which they are planning and enacting.
