An exciting opportunity has become available for Senior Charge Midwives at NHS Ayrshire and Arran. We are looking for a highly motivated, experienced and enthusiastic person to join us here at Ayrshire Maternity Unit.

You must be an experienced Registered Midwife having a current revalidation with the Nursing and Midwifery Council. You should be able to evidence experience in all aspects of midwifery including hospital and community led care.

You should be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, multi-disciplinary team working and be a positive influence for culture within the workplace.
- The role is to:
- Provide effective leadership and expert clinical support to the multidisciplinary team for women and their families both within the Acute and Community settings.
- To undertake clinical practice regularly within the Intrapartum setting.
- To provide evidence of effective day to day running of the service with focus on training, staffing levels, skill mix, succession planning and budget management.
- To ensure the service is safe and effective with participation and learning from adverse events.
- To participate and coordinate as a change agent for current and pending national initiatives relevant to the maternity service as a whole.
- Regularly act as Hospital Co-ordinator/Bed Manager/Fire Warden supporting all areas within the Women and Children’s Service and staff.

Full driving licence is essential.

Hours: 37.5 per week (The positions available are for substantive posts with varying hours)
