We are assisting our client, a manufacturing business based in Washington in their search for an Accounts/Payroll Assistant. You will report to the Financial Controller and be responsible for the following:

- Process payroll monthly, complete pension submissions, year-end processes and P11D submissions.
- Develop overtime reporting and level to issue to managers. Comparison of authorised overtime, overtime worked, overtime paid, etc. % of unexpected overtime (late authorisations, etc.)
- Provide HR admin - references, RTW, any other paperwork. Support managers with RTW interviews, and any disciplinary processes & procedures, etc.
- Supplier payments and control - working with project managers to verify capital payments, etc.
- Review VAT postings for accuracy and submit VAT return.
- Submit the EC Sales List declaration to HMRC each month.
- Daily monitoring of T&A - maintaining day data, holiday records and holiday spreadsheet.
- Daily monitoring of bank account and daily cashflow
- Weekly cashflows - ensure these are accurate and reflect correct sales forecasts and purchase information - working with Financial Controller to improve the information.
- Provide support for company credit cards transaction processing.
- Review the sales information - checking for accuracy of entries made on invoice master and credit control and sales ledger.
- Ensure employee expense forms are processed accurately and monitor balances to reclaim via payroll.
- Reconciling company credit cards - ensuring all purchases are accounted for and authorised correctly.
- Banking - complete monthly bank reconciliations for all accounts.
- Petty cash control.
- Provide cover for weekly hours reporting.
- Assist with preparation of year-end statutory accounts.
- Assist with preparation of budgets & forecasts.
- Provide cover for the Finance Team including processing timesheets, invoices, answering reception telephone calls, open incoming mail, assist visitors, book travel arrangement & insurance database.
- Assisting Financial Controller with ad hoc duties.

**Skills**
Experience of payroll systems, preferably Sage 50

Invoice processing skills

Word, Excel, Powerpoint

Strong communicator

This role is fully office based

Hours - Mon - Thurs 8am - 5pM/Fri 8am-1pm
Holidays 5 weeks + bank holidays
