Project Delivery and Change has the exciting remit to drive the department's project delivery best practise through processes, systems, procedures, culture and working practices that enable staff to optimise new initiatives and deliver through ambiguity and uncertainty effectively. Our aim is to support the delivery of the Chief Operating Officer objectives of doing the basics well and build for the future.

You will be a talented portfolio or project delivery professional who will join our central Project Delivery Function. In this role, you can expect to support the production of reporting collateral to senior management, support the development of existing and new project delivery frameworks and take a key role in driving up PPM quality across the portfolio of programmes and projects.

You will gain exposure to a range of stakeholders at varying seniority levels and have the opportunity to develop practical project delivery skills across planning, risk management, reporting, governance and stakeholder management. Project delivery accreditation and training will also be made available.

The job holder will act as a key link between the portfolio office and the ‘front-line’ of project delivery within the department and will be exposed to a variety of programmes, reflecting the diverse working environment of the department.

**Job description**:
**Portfolio Reporting** - support the monthly reporting process for DBT’s major programmes portfolio. This includes providing analysis of the bi-monthly returns for your named programmes for the portfolio reporting pack.

**Programme Support **- help new programmes entering the portfolio whilst working with corporate functions and other SMEs to ensure reporting is of the highest standard. Programme support offers could include risk management, governance, reporting, planning and dependency management.

**Project Delivery Best Practise** - support your named programmes in adhering to departmental Project Delivery Best Practise and embed best practise to increase overall Project Delivery maturity. Utilise a range of Project Delivery technical expertise to support programmes establish good practises in risk management, planning, reporting etc.

**Stakeholder Engagement** - working with a range of stakeholders, including programmes, corporate functions, the IPA, other government departments, to support the aims and vision of the Portfolio Management Office

**Hybrid Working**

The role will be based in London or Darlington.

Please be aware that this role can only be worked from within the UK and not overseas.

Informal hybrid working arrangements will be available as agreed with the vacancy manager and in line with the requirements of the role.

Most DBT employees will be working a hybrid pattern, spending 2-3 days a week (pro rata) in an office, on average. If your office location is London, you will be eligible to receive the London Weighting.

**Essential Criteria**

You will have good working knowledge and skills in Project Delivery
- Evidence of operating equivalent to Level 2 in Project Support Role (HEO) - as defined in the Government Project Delivery Capability Framework found on Gov.uk.
- You will have successfully worked in a small to medium complexity project or PMO environment, or, have had exposure to a high complexity project.
- Have a genuine interest or passion for project delivery.
- Proven strong communication, analytical and engagement skills and you will be comfortable with working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, both individually and as a team.
