Playback, Inverness's groundbreaking four-floor venue, is seeking a dedicated Kitchen Supervisor/Assistant Kitchen Manager to join our culinary team. As the right-hand person to the Kitchen Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting day-to-day operations, acting as a senior chef/kitchen assistant operationally while maintaining the high culinary and brand standards set by Playback. Join us in delivering an outstanding culinary experience aligned seamlessly with Playback's unique identity.
**Responsibilities**:
- **Operational Support**: Work closely with the Kitchen Manager to ensure the seamless operation of all kitchen activities, strictly adhering to high culinary and brand standards set by Playback. Take charge in the absence of the Kitchen Manager, overseeing daily operations with an unwavering commitment to excellence.
- **Team Leadership**: Act as a senior chef and kitchen assistant, leading the kitchen team by example. Motivate and guide staff to consistently deliver exceptional culinary experiences while fostering a positive and collaborative work environment, reflecting Playback's brand ethos.
- **Menu Execution**: Support the Kitchen Manager in executing the American fusion comfort food menu, ensuring each dish not only meets but exceeds the quality standards set by Playback. Contribute to menu development and innovation, always mindful of brand adherence.
- **Training and Development**: Assist in training kitchen staff, ensuring that all team members are well-versed in culinary techniques and safety protocols in line with brand standards.
- **Inventory Management**: Contribute to efficient inventory management, overseeing stock levels, rotation, and quality control.
- **Operational Efficiency**: Work towards enhancing overall kitchen efficiency, implementing and maintaining systems that contribute to the smooth running of the kitchen.
- **Health and Safety**: Strictly adhere to health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe and hygienic working environment in alignment with brand standards.
- **Collaboration**: Collaborate with the Kitchen Manager in various responsibilities, supporting menu planning and contributing to the overall success of Playback's culinary operations.
- **Adaptability**: Thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic kitchen environment, adapting to changing circumstances, and contributing to the continuous success of Playback's culinary offerings.
**Requirements**:
- Proven experience in a kitchen supervisory more senior chefing role.
- Strong culinary skills with a focus on American fusion comfort food.
- Leadership abilities to guide and motivate the kitchen team.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills to support daily kitchen operations, strictly adhering to brand standards.
- Familiarity with inventory management and health and safety regulations while upholding brand standards.
- Eagerness to contribute to the development of culinary excellence at Playback with a strong emphasis on brand adherence.
**Salary**: £12.60 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
