We are working with a large **SEN Secondary school **in Coulsdon who are looking for experienced and qualified Teaching Assistants to start when the new academic year begins in September. This is a **Special School** for **children and young people aged 11-19 with severe and profound multiple learning difficulties**. Many of the students have additional diagnoses and complex needs.

They are looking for both permanent and temporary staff.

**Your key duties as a Learning Support Assistant will be to**:

- Support the children mainly in small groups and on a 1:1 basis.
- Using your experience of effective behaviour management.
- Experience of moving and handling. Use of hoist and any certification is highly advantageous.
- Experience supporting children and/or adults with medical needs or PMLD is highly advantageous.
- Being of a kind, caring and compassionate nature.
- Solid knowledge and experience supporting students with various traits of ASD is also very useful as well other conditions such as Downs Syndrome and other forms of MLD.
- Must have had previous experience of working in a classroom setting.
- Holding a level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification would be beneficial, but not essential.
- Any experience of running your own interventions is advantageous.

It is essential that you have previous experience supporting pupils with SEN and being able to help children with their work who are academically struggling.
