**About the Role**:
Beechwood Surgery has an opportunity for a finance assistant to join our busy practice support team, on a part time basis for 30 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 08:00 to 16:00.

This is a great opportunity for an individual seeking a fulfilling and interactive role, which involves supporting the GP partners and practice manager to ensure the smooth running of the practice. The post-holder will be a member of the surgery management team, with the delegated responsibility for overseeing the day-to-day operation of the surgery. You will ensure the effective processing of all administrative work and appropriate liaison with the administration teams whilst leading the attainment of local and national targets, and addressing any issues as they arise, with support from the wider management team.

The main responsibilities of the role include:

- To work with administrators to ensure overall appointment functionality for GPs, clinical staff, reception and admin teams, to ensure smooth running of the practice.
- To support in aspects of administration, monthly reporting, quality improvement and overseeing QoF/IIF/enhanced services.
- To support the practice manager in administration and project management as required.
- To facilitate financial claims and adhere to local enhanced services.
- To support the practice in preparing paperwork as required and providing admin support to the practice manager.
- To develop internal communications, ensuring that all staff are informed and aware of developments.
- To attend staff meetings as required.
- To deliver training where necessary.
- To ensure the overall day-to-day functioning and smooth-running of the practice.
- To develop and support communication to patients, identifying ways to improve engagement.
- To respond to immediate problems and complaints as required.
- have an understanding of health services, together with a passion for improving lives and improving healthcare;
- have good knowledge of SystmOne appointment, audit and reporting systems, as well as: Ardens, AccuRx, Microsoft 365, Xero, CQRS;
- have good knowledge of data protection and Caldicott guidelines;
- have the ability to train and support others in IT and keep abreast of changes in this area;
- are experienced medical administrators, with excellent IT and typing skills;
- are adaptable and friendly, with strong administration, time management and organisational skills;
- are excellent communicators, able to work in a confidential and discreet manner;
- are able to "think on their feet" in a busy working environment;
- are able to multi-task, work hard and maintain a high level of attention to detail, when under pressure;
- are able to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, as well as comfortable working independently.

Some flexibility is required as you will sometimes need to work additional or alternative hours to cover for colleagues.
