The Orpheus Centre is an independent specialist college in Godstone, Surrey. We focus on developing independence skills through performing and visual arts and make dramatic improvements to young disabled adults’ lives.

We are currently seeking a **Student Services Officer** to act as one of the key contact points for Orpheus learners and their parents / carers.

Providing a broad range of assistance and advice, the job holder will need to work closely with members of staff from across Orpheus and must therefore demonstrate good communication skills and an ability to deal competently with both internal and external stakeholders.

The role is also crucial to the smooth running of the Learning Team, providing effective administration and organisation to Orpheus management and others on a wide range of tasks. You will need to be highly organised, computer literate, efficient and motivated. The ability to multi-task, take initiative and solve problems are key attributes to achieving success in the role.

**Full time: 35 hours per week / 52 weeks per year - 9.00am to 5.00pm**

**Hours may be altered on occasions according to the needs of the curriculum and organisation**

**£23,113 per annum**

**Essential qualifications, knowledge and experience**:

- Minimum of 5 GCSE’s A-C or equivalent including Maths and English
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience of working in an administration role
- Minimum 1 year of working in an education setting
- Experienced user of Office packages, in particular Word, Excel & Outlook
- Effective time management & effective utilisation of resources
- Knowledge of GDPR
- Awareness of health and safety good practices
- Excellent communication skills including both written and verbal
- An ability to present data and information in a clear, concise, understandable way, as required for a range of audiences, including both internal & external stakeholders
- An ability to multi-task & work under pressure, often to tight deadlines
- Excellent computer literacy and administrative skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with young adults with disabilities / learning difficulties
- Drive to achieve results - sets own standards, checks own work and demonstrates a positive approach
- Pro-active approach to problem solving
- Personable with a sense of humour - demonstrating an ability to build relationships and get on well with people from a variety of backgrounds
- Ability to work well in a team and willing to share ideas and best practice
- Flexibility to attend occasional evening & weekend events when required (notice will be given)
- To maintain a high degree of confidentiality at all times

Experience working in further education with young adults with learning and/or physical disabilities is desirable.
