The Lounge Team Leader will assist the Manager with implementing and maintaining all standards, policies and procedures relating to food and beverage service in the Lounge as laid out by the Lounge Supervisor, with a strong emphasis on staff training and development and guest satisfaction. The Team Leader is also responsible for day-to-day management of Lounge Staff (Lounge Attaches, Chefs and Kitchen workers).
**Main Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Ensure compliance with agreed standards, policies and procedures relating to Lounge service.
- Responsible for creation of staff rotas and delegation of staff duties ensuring the department is adequately staffed. This is to include coverage for holidays, sickness, and absenteeism.
- Responsible for tracking and keep up to date staff information around lieu days, holiday plans, sick days, and weekly roster & timesheets.
- Ensure all staff report for duty punctually and in the correct uniform, so presenting a good impression to all passengers.
- Assist the Lounge Supervisor in maintaining discipline within the team highlighting to the Supervisor of any related issues in proper time.
- Assist with the staff training in accordance with the Company Training Manual and ensure the training matrix records are maintained in the correct manner.
- Assist in the maintaining the agreed standards as per Operations Manual
- Maintain a pleasant working atmosphere to motivate staff and maintain a good team spirit. While developing and maintaining good working relationships with all other departments within the Company.
- Liaise with the Lounge Supervisor daily to discuss day to day business and highlight any issues impacting delivery.
- Assume responsibility for food and beverage quality served in the Lounge.
- Inform all staff members in the Lounge of any Special Attention Passengers and special tasks to be carried out in absence of the Lounge Supervisor.
- Ensure Lounge and all their contents are always maintained in a clean state and in good repair. Any faults should be reported directly to the Lounge Supervisor and / or directly to the relevant department.
- Ensure all tables are laid up in accordance with the design and the Operation Manual.
- Ensure timely and efficient service flow, clearing tables, replenishment of food and beverage items.
- Ensure timely delivery of correct order with proper attentiveness and checking passenger’s satisfaction at all time.
- Ensure and supervise the clean down and re-stocking of the bar / Buffet areas.
- Ensure all operating equipment is handled carefully avoiding abuse and minimising breakage.
- Ensure good working knowledge of drinks, food and cocktails served in the Lounge.
- Carry out additional duties assigned to you by the Lounge Supervisor.
- Attend trainings and meetings as and when required.
- Ensure that all potential and real hazards are reported immediately to the relevant departments or Lounge Supervisor.
**Qualifications**:
**Education**:
- Educated to a minimum of Higher Diploma level
**Work Experience**:
- Minimum two years supervisory role within service industry managing small to medium teams
- Previous customer service experience is essential, airline / hospitality industry experience preferred but not essential
- Previous experience with broad international food and beverage preferred
- Proven track record in providing excellent customer service
**Other Skills**:(Certification, Licenses and Registration)
- Thorough understanding of food production, hygiene and safety standards
- Ability to train and develop employees, including sharing of knowledge and demonstration of technical skills
- PC Literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Knowledge of HACCP
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight timescales, prioritising as appropriate
- Customer focused, Supportive and able to respond effectively to adhoc needs
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in English; able to communicate at all levels
