- Job description- The team is responsible for regulating the environmental impact from the construction activities at Hinkley Point C. The team works closely with the site to promote sustainability and best practice as well as ensuring the timely delivery of permits and planning permissions required for the project to remain on schedule. This is the first new nuclear power station to be built in the UK in over 20 years, with the aim to provide low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes and is currently one of the largest construction sites in Europe.
Communication skills and organisation are essential for this role. You will give our team the support they need by efficiently and accurately handling project information. The role will see you supporting a wide range of project activities, giving you an understanding of a large-scale project that will have a hugely positive effect. You will be handling and processing data, running reports, and providing vital support to meetings through action tracking.
You may also need to accompany Project Managers on site visits and help organise community events. As you grow in confidence, we’ll support your ambitions too - and help you use the experience as a springboard for your career.
Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents, or provide business continuity support during an incident. This may attract an additional payment and full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role.

- The team- We are a small team of Technical Specialists currently working solely on Hinkley Point C, but form part of the wider Regulated Industry Department in Wessex. We work closely with colleagues in local and national teams to help ensure environmentally sound delivery at Hinkley Point, in line with the developers challenging schedule and timetable.
- Experience/skills required
- Organised and self-motivated individual capable of prioritising and problem solving.
- Good people skills, working with both internal and external customers.
- Aptitude to work independently with mínimal supervision.
- A keen eye for detail and accuracy, with the ability to analyse and present information.
- Good experience of Microsoft Office suite.
- An understanding of, or willingness to learn about project management.
- Flexible and adaptable with positive attitude and willing to contribute to a diverse and inclusive work culture.

Excellent communication skills are necessary as you’ll be working with a diverse range of people.

The role can be based at either our Bridgwater, Blandford or Chippenham Offices, with flexible home working included. As a dispersed team, there is an occasional need to travel.
