Assystem's security team play a key role in the effective on-boarding and security clearance of individuals into our business Our Vetting Assistants will send out vetting packs, process the information received and handle any National Security Vetting queries. You'll ensure that vetting is carried out in accordance with the company’s requirements. The role will provide direct operational delivery of the vetting function and assist the Deputy Company Security Controller in supporting the business with vetting project requirements and enquiries.

Ideally the role will be based out of our Blackburn office however, we will consider individuals who can work from our Derby or Sunderland offices also and, the role offers hybrid working with 2/3 days in the office.

**Responsibilities will include**:

- Provide support and advice for all types of Vetting
- Monitoring existing clearances and proactively ensuring renewals are carried out in a timely and efficient manner.
- Advise and provide updates on changes in policies and procedures in respect to vetting.
- Liaise with external agencies and customer vetting departments with regard to Security Clearances including the verification of internal and external clearances.
- Ensure Personnel Security risks are effectively managed by conducting rigorous checks and ensuring ongoing Personnel Security controls are applied throughout the organisation.
- Act as a point of contact for all staff and contractors for both specific vetting and general security enquiries, ensuring they are dealt with effectively and efficiently taking into account data protection and other security considerations in relation to disclosure of information.
- Support on Security Vetting Incident & Aftercare Incident Reporting, follow-up actions and sharing learning from experience for any security near-misses and recording details of these.
- Assist with site internal and external vetting audits.
- Support on project specific vetting and National Security Vetting clearance queries.
- Provide project specific security support for key projects
- Provide vetting information to support reports for the Deputy Company Security Controller.
- Issuing of site access passes to staff
- Liaise with other support functions and business units to ensure timely onboarding of staff

**Qualifications** Essential Skills, Qualifications and Experience**
- Microsoft office suite of programmes, specifically an experienced user of Word and Excel
- Previous proven experience in a similar role
