We are seeking a locum Team Manager for the Disabled Children’s service of an East Midlands authority.

This is a 3-month assignment initially, with hybrid working arrangements.

**The role will involve the following**:

- The Disabled Children’s Service consists of two social work teams led by a strong and experienced service manager.
- You will manage a team of social workers who undertake assessments and work with families, using a Signs of Safety/wellbeing model that aims to put in place independence focussed plans.
- They are on a journey to be a Trauma Informed Service, responding to families who tell them how hard it is to navigate services and secure the help that they need.
- Staff workloads are manageable, and these continue to improve.
- Managers and staff all have regular monthly supervision.
- You will use performance data and audit to drive improvement and ensure that interventions are timely and consistently good quality.
- We want you to feel you are part of a wider management team and you are expected to attend regular wider management team meetings with the senior team and Assistant Director.

**Requirements of the role**:

- Social Work qualification
- Social Work England registered
- Must have strong background & working knowledge within statutory children’s services (local authority)
- Must have management experience within a local authority children’s services setting
- You will be familiar with key legislation and national policy, including practice around short breaks, safeguarding and EHC Needs Assessment, Mental Capacity Assessments and Deprivation of Liberty Orders.
