Commercial Financial Controller - Immediate Start available
**Cheltenham (1-2 days pw from home)
Permanent role**
**Monday - Friday - Early Friday finish
£55k - £65k DOE**
An expanding business are seeking a commercially astute CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified financial controller to join an excelling business. Reporting to the Finance Director, the Commercial Financial Controller will be responsible for driving budget and forecastattainment. You’ll be working closely with the executive board and Senior Management team to reach this goal. This would suit an analytical FC/Finance business partner with experience in a service led industry.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring the weekly suite of reports are produced accurately and released to the main stakeholders on a timely basis
- Make recommendations of improvements to continue to help drive the business forwards
- Contributing to the development of company strategy across all areas of the business, challenging figures and providing financial analysis of business results and targets
- Establish additional reports on the back of the monthly management accounts that will help every area of the business succeed
- Weekly communication with senior management team to discuss, analyse and strategise following weekly figure reporting
- Work alongside senior management team to produce a business plan for every area of the business that needs investment or new ventures that the group is looking to embark into
- Assist with reviewing any tax queries, tax status, legal or accounting requirements that might be specific to the UK or overseas operations (including any future overseas ventures)
- Managing the budget process and rolling forecast
- Control cost control within the business, which will include overseeing the PO system and continually improving on the current system
- Cash flow forecasting for funding facility
- Develop current procedures & processes to ensure complete accuracy
- Train and develop current staff in order to improve financial reporting
Qualifications and Skills required
- Confident financial controller/finance business partner/finance manager
- At least 5 years of experience in a commercially focussed finance role (fast moving service sector would be ideal)
- Effective communication skills to build strong relationships with the Board members, internal stakeholders and external advisers.
- Ability to drive ideas through to execution as well as a pragmatic approach to problem solving, seeing all viewpoints before defining the best course of action
- Adept grasp of key metrics that drive the commercial aspects with strong business partnering skills
- Good IT literacy - advanced excel, Sage 50 would be advantageous
- Up to date knowledge of tax and HMRC regulations highly advantageous
- Strong Commercial and business awareness
- Excellent time management
