**Transformation Programme and Project Manager**
**Job description**
We are looking for a Programme and Project Manager to manage a portfolio of transformational projects within Dacorum Borough Council’s newly established Transformation Service.
This role is within our Project Management Office, and will be leading on transformative programmes and projects which will shape our future service delivery for Dacorum residents.
This role will:
- Plan, direct, and coordinate activities to manage and implement interrelated projects from proposal or initiation to final operational stage
- Manage complex multiple project teams as required to ensure that they meet their objectives and address any issues as appropriate,
- Developing a forward-looking and proactive approach to managing emerging and strategic risks and issues across programmes,
- Develop robust governance frameworks for projects and programmes including project plans, risk/issue logs, and reports on programme activity for stakeholders including programme boards, Strategic Directors, Strategic Leadership Team, Overview and Scrutinycommittees, Cabinet etc.
**About You**:
You’ll have a track record of successful programme and project delivery, excellent analytical skills, and be comfortable with working with and analysing quantitative and qualitative data.
As a recognised expert in the theory and practice of project management, you will develop good project management expertise in others and enhance project management processes in the organisation. You will manage hybrid multi-directorate project teams, andwill therefore have good communication, engagement, and organisation skills together with credibility in the role.
You will have strong influencing skills and the ability to bring together project sponsors (usually senior managers), expert advisers, external consultants, contractors and end users together to form an effective team focussed on delivery of projects.
With the ability to communicate and deliver presentations to a wide range of audiences, you’ll be a superb organiser and planner. Strong IT skills especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint are essential, and you’ll be ready to lead and motivate a small multi-disciplinaryteam.
