Service based business based in the Preston area requires a Head of FP&A. Reporting to the Finance Director this is a pivotal role within the finance team. You will be responsible for supporting the operational, strategic and financial decisions at a senior management level.

The role will be focusing on driving the commercial deliverables across the business and building strong operational relationship with stakeholders. The role is responsible for providing a complete commercial, operational and financial overview of the business and acts as the key professional contact and business partner for all departments and stakeholders. The role will include taking ownership of the accuracy of the data and reporting.

Duties of the role will include:

- Overall leadership and management of a small team of analysts
- Lead, mentor and review any reports to ensure they align with contractual obligations
- Liaise with the senior leadership team to present, interpret and drive action plans for data and analysis produced
- Work closely with the Management Accounts team to ensure consistency between the weekly flash reporting and month end reporting
- Provision of significant data and analysis, target setting and production of accurate, timely reports on all major KPI’s in the formats required for the business requirements
- Recognising key drivers in future financial performance to analyse ahead of the company reporting and assessing potential risks
- Own the weekly flash reporting, understanding key drivers with clear and concise explanation
- Analysing and presenting operational and financial performance, examining trends along with commentary to senior management
- Creating financial models to predict growth and forecast performance
- Building annual budgets and forecasts for different sites and consolidating into one master budget. Analysing financial and operational performance, examining trends
- Analysing previous budgets and forecasts and performing variance analysis to explain discrepancies.
- Evaluating new and existing projects investments and assets to determine their validity and appraise their value
- Actively take part in creation of ad-hoc reports / analysis and presentation thereof.
- Providing support and insights to departments and stakeholders through simple ad-hoc reports and analysis
- Creating synergies for reporting and analysis; always looking at best practice and ways of streamlining & creating efficiencies
- Ensuring the efficiency of all controlling processes
- Compliance with controlling standard

You will have a string technical background as well as advanced IT skills.
