**Job Summary**:
To contribute to the pleasant environment of the Home with a particular remit for involving the residents in a wide variety of activities designed to address a wide range of interests and varied limitations on physical and mental agility.

You will ensure our residents take part in:

- Arts and crafts
- Games
- Sing-a-longs
- Creative decorations
- Bingo
- Dominoes
- Knitting
- and many more.
- On site entertainment
- planned trips off site.

To become a part of our team you should exude enthusiasm, commitment and energy, demonstrate influencing and persuasive skills, along with initiative, imagination, reliability, be patient, trustworthy, compassionate and above all else - understanding.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Organise varied activities within the Home to cater for a variety of interests for small groups and large numbers of residents, including games, parties and entertainment, encouraging relatives and visitors to be involved.
- Arrange trips and excursions (when safe to do so) with varied destinations and purposes to involve as many residents in activity outside the confines of the Home.
- Undertake fundraising activity for the Residents Fund.
- Participate as an active member of the Resident’s Committee.
- Understand personal responsibilities in relation to the Health & Safety at Work legislation, fire and safety and evacuation procedures and is aware of the need to provide a safe and healthy environment for residents, particularly with regard to external activities.
- Act accordingly towards residents and their visitors, respecting the dignity and individuality of each resident.
- Contribute fully to team working, and be aware of the care staff routines necessary to provide continuity of service to residents.
- Ensure supplies and equipment are stored in a safe and tidy manner.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
- Demonstrate understanding of the role of social interaction plays in the general well being of people.
- Previous involvement in community activity and roles ideal, but not essential.
- Knowledge of Health and Safety, particularly Moving and Handling techniques, and COSHH assessments.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: £11.54 per hour

Expected hours: 30 per week
