**Patient Funds Officer**

**AfC Band 3 (pro rata) plus a High Secure Environmental Allowance of £1,390.20 per annum (pro rata)**

**18.75 Hours**

**Contract Duration - Permanent**

**Post Details**

A permanent vacancy has arisen for a part time Patient Funds Officer within the Finance Department. Duties will include
- Dealing with patients banking requests.
- Dealing with patient banking account queries
- Update individual balances after weekly deductions and deposits have been calculated
- Ensure that adequate funds are available for patients outside purchases
- Process patients “green folder” (outsides purchases) requests
- Reconcile daily cash float
- Count daily cash from patients shop and transport to finance department for banking
- Collect and deliver patients funds cash to wards
- Respond to enquiries from wards and other departments and outside bodies
- Correspond to patients creditors on their behalf re outstanding debts
- Communicate information to other Patient Funds staff
- Provide cross cover for Finance Officer duties in cases of sickness or annual leave
- Required to attend Breakaway Training and refresher training annually.

**Experience**
- Excellent organisational skills
- Strong communication and inter-personal skills
- Well-developed numeracy skills.
- The ability to work under pressure
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Keyboard skills essential due to use of computer daily
- Cash Handling experience essential
