We are pleased to be able to offer the exciting opportunity for 3 x permanent full-time Appointee & Deputyship Team (ADT) Caseworkers within Adult Social Care Financial Services.

The team supports those adults who receive care and support through East Sussex County Council (ESCC), Adult Social Care who lack mental capacity to manage their finances and property themselves by taking on the responsibility by way of Department for Work and Pensions Appointeeship or Court of Protection Deputyship.

The role of the ADT Caseworker is to manage the day to day financial affairs of those vulnerable adults in accordance with the Mental Capacity Act 2005 (Mental Capacity Act 2005 (legislation.gov.uk) and our responsibilities as set out in the Office of the Public Guardian Standards (Deputy standards: professional deputies (publishing.service.gov.uk)

The role will include, but not limited to
- Budgeting
- Making Best Interest Decisions
- Liaising with clients, families, and professionals

This is a fast paced and developing service with high standards and aspirations to deliver a gold standard service to our customers.

You will be joining a supportive team who are passionate about the service they deliver.

The team are hybrid working, with a mix of working from home and working in the office. Due to the nature of the role, and the current home working arrangements, it is important that you are organised, self-motivated, proactive, and collaborative.

You will need knowledge of working with computers including Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office. You will work on several bespoke database systems for which you will receive full training and ongoing support.

If you are successful, you will benefit from ESCC’s excellent standards of support and supervision.

Training for this role, will include the opportunity to complete the APAD (Association of Public Authority Deputies) accreditation.
