**Your new role**
Your new role as a Primary Teaching Assistant will consist of you working alongside the class teacher providing an encouraging environment to learn for the students. Your day-to-day activity will vary, and your shifts will be starting around 8:30am to 3:30pm.You will be working with students across the age range of 5-11 depending on your experience. As well as supporting in the classroom you will be required to support children on a 1:1 basis outside the classroom as well as in small group sessions.
**What you'll need to succeed**
To be a successful Teaching assistant you must be able to communicate well with the children depending on the age group and with, colleagues and parents during meetings and providing feedback. You must have a good knowledge of the primary curriculum such asin Phonics for Early Years, Numeracy and Literacy for KS1 and SATS level Maths, English and SPAG for KS2. You must ideally be a level 1 or level 2 Qualified Teaching Assistant or have at least 40 days of experience teaching in a classroom environment in thelast 5 years.
