We are looking for a **Payroll Lead **to join our busy HR team based at Normanton, Wakefield. The role reports to the Head of HR and is responsible for processing 3 payrolls for circa 500 people across the Group.

Responsibilities include:

- Control all Payroll data.
- Issue all tax forms.
- Process all weekly and monthly payrolls.
- Process and deal with all elements of employee pensions.
- Deal with all employee payroll queries.
- Assist with audit, legislative payroll reporting & requirements.
- Mentor the HR Administrator in processing Payroll.

Duties include:

- Input starter and leaver information into the various payrolls.
- Update information, such as salary increases.
- Process different pay types such as maternity, unpaid leave, car allowance and holiday pay.
- Manage the time & attendance system to gather the required information for payroll processing.
- Ensure that all data is input to the highest level of accuracy.
- Prepare and issue Payslips, P45’s and P60’s for all relevant employees.
- Ensure these forms are sent accurately and in time to meet deadlines.
- Responsible for the inputting and quality of all payroll data.
- Ensuring that the relevant, accurate data is in the system and processed in time to meet payroll cut-off.
- Deal with all aspects of auto-enrolment, including data entry and reporting.
- Administer pension changes from employees as needed.
- Ensure Government legislation is always adhered to.
- Liaise with the wider HR team to answer queries when necessary.
- Provide all necessary data to carry out Audits both internally and externally, supporting with the interpretation where necessary.
- Prepare the Gender Pay Report in a timely fashion each year, by the end of Q1.
- Be responsible for all statutory requirements, including RTI.
- Develop enhanced payroll reporting & MI for the Company.
- Liaise with the HMRC and other statutory bodies as required.
- Keep upto date with all payroll related legislative changes and update team as required.
- Provide respectful mentoring to less senior members of the HR team and be the technical expert whenever required.
- Maintain and monitor all systems ensuring that adequate and appropriate HR records are created and maintained.

Skills/Experience:

- Experience in a senior payroll role.
- Ability to influence at all levels.
- Commercial acumen and credibility.
- Up to date knowledge of GDPR & HMRC legislation.
- Good organisation and prioritisation skills.
- Cascade payroll system experience preferred but not essential.

40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 08.30am - 5.00pm.
