**Job Purpose**
This is a fixed term (36 months), full-time Project Administrator post on the Paratexts seeking Understanding project, funded by the Templeton Religion Trust and the School of Critical Studies. This project makes substantial subgrants to external partners and is highly collaborative. This position supports the research on this project through quality and timely administration, assists in facilitating collaboration with partners, and supports the larger research context related to this project.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**
1. To plan, coordinate, and execute annual project meetings, occasional meetings with core team and subgrantees, and other events that arise as part of the project or related projects.
2. In relation to the project to, co-ordinate the processing of reimbursements, procuring resources, communicating with university administrative departments, communicating with external stakeholders and partners, working with academic staff, and working with the operations team ensure external invitees are reimbursed in a timely manner.
3. To administrate any new initiatives related to this project or other endeavours as appropriate.
4. To co-ordinate the delivery of a series of informational handbooks on (1) best practices for conference organisation at Glasgow; (2) grant funding opportunities in the humanities available to early career researchers; (3) open access funding vectors; (4) research cluster grant strategy and budgetary best practices; (5) other areas that arise.
5. To assist in financial reporting and communication to funder for the Paratexts seeking Understanding project and other related projects, working with the research finance office and school of critical studies operations team.
6. To act as the central point of contact between the core Glasgow team, subgrantees, and university administrative departments, communicating in a direct, timely, and courteous way.
7. To identify new potential funding sources to support this project or related endeavours.
8. To build relationships with potential partners and funders in support of this project and related endeavours.
9. To co-ordinate the project’s active social media communication, including publications, events, milestones, successes, open calls and other relevant items, working also with the communications office to publicise the project and its outcomes.

**Knowledge, Qualifications, Skills and Experience**

**Knowledge/Qualifications**

**Essential**:

A1 Either: Ability to demonstrate the competencies required to undertake the duties associated with this level of post having acquired the necessary knowledge and skills in a similar role. Or: Scottish Credit and Qualification Framework level 7 (Advanced Higher / Scottish Vocational Qualification level 3, Higher National Certificate) or equivalent, and experience of personal development in a similar role.
A2 Familiarity with administrative systems similar to CoreHR and Agresso.

**Desirable**:

B1 Familiarity with academic grant opportunities or funders in the humanities.

**Skills**

**Essential**:

C1 Ability to prioritise workload and to work to deadlines.
C2 Excellent planning and organisational skills.
C3 Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and oral) to deal with research staff, and the wider academic community and informants.
C4 Proven initiative and judgement to analyse and resolve problems.
C5 Ability to work both independently using own initiative and as part of a team and be flexible according to the varying needs of the project.
C6 Excellent IT skills, including ability to effectively use Microsoft Office.

**Experience**

**Essential**:

E1 Experience of proven decision making, involving independent analysis and judgement.
E2 Experience of event/project management from start to successful completion/
E3 Experience working in a team.

**Terms and Conditions**
Salary will be Grade 5, £24,715 - £28,929 per annum.
This post is full time (35 hours per week), and has funding for up to 3 years in the first instance.
