The Role

Based in the Research Policy Intelligence & Ethics Team within the University’s Research Strategy and Development Service (RSD), you will work closely with the Research Policy Governance and Integrity Manager as well as colleagues more widely in RSD and the University Library to progress specific projects supporting the implementation of the University Research Culture Action Plan. This will involve working with a range of stakeholders across the University ensuring appropriate alignment and integration with related agendas.

Key Accountabilities

Research integrity
Support specific initiatives within the University’s Research Culture Action plan relating to the ‘Research Integrity’ agenda:
Oversee the implementation of a Research Integrity / Good Research Practice Champions Network including the provision of administrative supportive and inputting as appropriate into the development of relevant training materials for network members and best practice sharing events and initiatives
Oversee the implementation of a Concordat to Support Research Integrity Steering Group including the provision of administrative support and maintaining an institutional level action plan Develop and oversee consultation and community engagement and promotional events including oversight of working groups and /or overseeing focus groups ensuring an inclusive approach and reflecting feedback in subsequent action planning
In liaison with the Responsible Metrics Special Interest Group, take forward initiatives in order to embed appropriate means of evaluating research within University processes and procedures
Open research
Support specific initiatives within the University’s Research Culture Action plan relating to the ‘Open Research’ agenda:
Investigate how current IT systems supporting Open Research can be improved and what new systems should be supported
Promote the use of Open Research and Contributor ID (ORCID) within the academic community and ensure it is used consistently across University systems to link grants, data, software and publications to potentially reduce administration
Provide project management support for the University’s input into the UK Reproducibility Network (UKRN) including oversight of a specific project relating to monitoring indicators for open research data
General Work with relevant colleagues responsible for University internal communications to increase awareness and buy-in relating to specific projects relating to research integrity, open research and wider research culture activities as appropriate

Knowledge of research integrity and open research issues

Ability to work across multiple teams
Ability to work alone using initiative and able to prioritise workload to meet deadlines
Excellent interpersonal skills relevant to interactions with staff at all levels
Ability to build and maintain relationships with external and internal partners
Excellent organisational and self-organisational skills
Experience of project management, including budget management
Experience of organising / managing events
Excellent IT skills
Excellent literacy and numeracy

**Qualifications**:
Qualified to Degree level and/or with significant relevant experience
A project management qualification (desirable)
