Night Receptionist

We are currently looking to hire a Night Porter / Night Receptionist on a permanent contract at Nira Caledonia in Stockbridge.
Our 27 bedroom luxury boutique hotel in Edinburgh city centre is a sanctuary for worldly, well-travelled individuals people who value easy-going sincerity more than rigid rules and stuffiness. Nira Caledonia is a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World and we expect you will have a naturally strong work ethic, the highest personal integrity and standards.
You will be required to work full time hours overnight, 10:15pm - 7:15am: four nights on, four nights off on a rolling roster basis.
Knowledge of Opera is a distinct advantage and previous experience of working in hospitality is desirable.
- Oversees Reception during the night shift to ensure guest satisfaction safety and security.
- Greet guests upon arrival at the Hotel to the hotel in a friendly and helpful manner and escort them to their accommodation.
- Assist guests with their luggage, be a point of contact for guests and other responsibilities to ensure all requirements are met during their stay.
- Check accommodation, making sure any special requests are carried out accordingly.
- Maintain a professional and high quality service oriented environment at all times.
- Act as representative for the hotel in dealing with guest needs, handling complaints, problem solving, special requests and any other issues that may arise.
- Serve 24 hour room service menu (beverages and food items)
- Ensure that the public areas are kept clean and tidy in line with our COVID-19 regulations and standards.
- Ensure the accurate completion of the daily night audit in a timely fashion.
- Oversee preparation of daily summary reports.
- Work closely with the Housekeeping Department to improve guest services and foster cross departmental communication.
- Be aware and able to enforce all fire-life-safety procedures.
- Remain current in all updates with regards to new procedures and training.
- Accurately process payments, room charges and have excellent cash handling.
- Night Porter to assist in preparing continental breakfast buffet.
- Night Porter to serve continental breakfast before 7am.
- Night Porter to set up restaurant for breakfast and to make sure that all areas and kitchen are tidied up.
- Night Porter to carry any duties as directed by Management.
