The role of the Screening and Immunisation Coordinator (SIC) is to support the commissioning of consistently resilient, high quality national screening and immunisation programmes within the defined geography of an NHSE/I region, bringing specific clinical and public health expertise to inform the commission and system management.

You will provide direct support to the Screening and Immunisation Manager (SIM) across the full range of commissioning activities, as specified in the section 7a agreement and which are required to ensure that screening and immunisation programmes:

- Meet the needs of all eligible people
- Provided to the highest levels of quality, safety and efficiency
- Meet minimum standards and strive for excellence
- Ensure equity of access and uptake

Individuals in these roles may come from a number of backgrounds including clinical such as nursing or midwifery as demonstrated for example by NMC or PH registration.

Main duties of role include
- As an integral member of the Southwest Vaccinations and Screening Team the Screening and Immunisation Coordinator (SIC) will:

- support the commissioning of consistently resilient, high quality national screening and immunisation programmes within the SW Region,
- bring specific clinical and public health expertise to inform the commissioning, quality improvement and performance of screening and immunisation programmes
- provide direct support to the Screening and Immunisation Manager (SIM) across the full range of commissioning activities, as specified in the section 7a agreement and which are required to ensure that screening and immunisation programmes: - Meet the needs of all eligible people
- Provided to the highest levels of quality, safety and efficiency
- Meet minimum standards and strive for excellence
- Ensure equity of access and uptake

- In collaboration with your manager and other team members, you will implement strategies and plans to support continuous improvement of the commissioning and delivery of the national programmes.
- You will be expected to be responsible for a defined number of primary care and other providers and act as the key liaison person.
- You will agree a specific portfolio of screening or immunisation areas of responsibility with the SIM. This will require you to lead in one of the following areas cancer screening, non-cancer screening, or immunisation but you will also be expected to undertake generic screening and immunisation functions as required
