**Job Title**:Education, Health and Care Plan Writer

**Location**: Wirral

**Contract Length**: 3 months

**Role Overview**: As an EHC Plan Writer, your primary responsibility will be to create comprehensive plans in accordance with the Children and Families Act (2014) and associated regulations. You will work closely with parents/carers, children/young people, schools, and other professionals to ensure that plans are tailored to individual needs and delivered within statutory timescales.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Write EHC plans in a timely manner, ensuring adherence to statutory timescales.
- Create plans of high quality, clarity, and accessibility, following relevant statutes, regulations, and Department for Education (DfE) guidance.
- Collaborate with advice givers to gather necessary information and ensure accuracy in plans.
- Utilize SEND databases effectively, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in compliance with local authority procedures.
- Assist EHCP Coordinators in responding to parental submissions and proposed changes to EHC plans.
- Support EHCP Coordinators with case work, including scheduling and arranging meetings with parents and professionals.

**Requirements**:

- Educated to A-level standard (Level 3 qualifications and above)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong understanding of special educational needs and disabilities, including knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice (2015)
- Experience in writing person-centered plans/reports and coordinating external services in schools or multi-disciplinary team settings
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with effective organizational and time management skills

**Desirable**:

- Additional qualifications in a related specialist field (e.g., child development, education)
- Experience in delivering high-quality customer service in a similar environment
- Experience working with a broad range of children, young people, and families

**Additional Information**:

- Ability to travel within Wirral and outside the Authority when required
- Enhanced DBS check will be required
- Flexibility to work outside traditional hours, including weekends and evenings, as needed, adopting an agile working approach
