**The role**
This role is an extremely exciting opportunity to support our Glasgow office with their operational needs.
We are looking for someone who has already worked in an operational role for a freight forwarding company who can come in and hit the ground running.
In this role you will be responsible for ensuring all our clients receive a personable and tailored service delivery to build loyalty, ensure repeat business and enable all jobs to run efficiently and correctly.
You will be responsible for processing road, air and sea shipments for our customers and completing bookings with shipping lines, agents and haulier’s. Delivering outstanding service to our customers is everything to us so you will make sure you are tracking and communicating all updates to customers, making sure their shipments arrive on time and informing them of any delays.
You will also be responsible for covering any Account Managers that are out of office, as well as, raising invoices and proof of deliveries.
Alongside service, margins are of course incredibly important to us and you will play a pivotal role in ensuring we have clear profit margins on all accounts and jobs, maximising these wherever possible.

**What you’ll be able to offer**
- Experience of working in an operational role for a freight forwarding company is essential
- Experience working within Export is desirable
- Good understanding of transport and Worldwide logistics
- Outstanding communication and customer service skills
- Strong negotiation skills
- The ability to develop and build strong and personable relationships over the phone and in person with a broad range of individuals
- The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be a strong team player
- Accountability to yourself and others
- Extremely organised with a high attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work well under pressure and able to work to tight deadlines
- High IT literacy skills
