Job Introduction
You’ll be joining a dynamic and supportive team that works effectively to build relationships with families, reduce risks and needs and support change over time using our renowned relationship based and trauma informed model, which underpins the work across our service.

You will be a team player with a passion for engaging with parents, providing direct support and encouraging families to access to our services. You will use your initiative to organise your workload and respond to unanticipated problems for families.

You must have experience of working with families along with a good understanding of the importance of parenting skills and community development, as well as the challenges of family life. Whatever your experience, you will need to be able to contribute to a team that provide motivation and professional coordination, ensuring that the service provided to families is effective.

You’ll be able to speak confidently with children, young people and adults; understand their needs and be able to help them access appropriate support, at a time that suits them, including after school hours. Having a good understanding of what services are available in the local community for families, children and young people and being confident to signpost to these will be key.

This post involves working with families in their homes; in schools and other community venues. Administrative tasks will be mainly office based with some hybrid working once the post holder is established.

Additional Information
Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.

Package Description
Help make the ultimate difference in families lives as a Connector in Tarner Family Hub, based in the heart of the city centre.

The Family Hub teams provide early help support for a wide range of families across the city; some are looking for advice and guidance on a single issue and some need longer term support to address multiple complex difficulties. As a Family Hub Connector, you will be committed to enabling families to manage their problems and access support and advice quickly, equipping parents to be the best they can be for their child, by increasing knowledge, confidence, and resilience.

You will undertake direct work with parents and young people to find out what they are worried about and what goals they want to work towards using a whole family approach. You will develop a clear plan to address the identified needs and work with the family and partner agencies to form a Team Around the Family. Within the short term intervention the Connector will strive to link in the family with all the support they need to sustain the positive changes that they will begin to implement. The Connector will leave the family with a clear exit plan.
