**The role**:
This post offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced administrator to join a multidisciplinary team in the Centre for Academic Primary Care, University of Bristol, in the delivery of a collaborative research project between the Universities of Bristol, Exeter and Oxford. The purpose of the role is to co-ordinate administration for the BRISMED trial a pragmatic evaluation of effectiveness and acceptability of the Bristol Medication Review Toolkit. The aim of the trial is to find out whether the Bristol Medication Review (BRISMED) toolkit can improve standards of medicines use compared to usual general practice care. The RCT will operate in 1000 practices that are registered with and contribute data to the anonymised routine data to the Oxford-Royal College of GPs Clinical Informatics Digital Hub (ORCHID). Fifty-six of the 1000 practices (28 intervention and 28 control) will also participate in the mixed methods process evaluation which will run parallel to the trial.

**What will you be doing?**:
The post-holder will take lead responsibility for administration of the research in line with the University of Bristol standards, undertaking budget monitoring, organising and supporting a range of internal and external meetings and training events, designing and preparing a range of documents and publicity materials as well as set-up of primary care sites, organising and managing trial paperwork, and maintaining electronic and paper records in line with GCP (Good Clinical Practice). The post-holder will act as a key point of contact for internal and external researchers, collaborators, funders and support staff. The post holder will also be responsible for organising and taking minutes of meetings of the trial investigators, for day-to-day financial transactions, organising and contributing to data entry and general administrative support for the Principal Investigator (Dr Deborah McCahon) and the wider BRISMED research team.
