To support the Medical PA in providing a comprehensive administrative service to the medical teams within the Specialist Services Network.

The Medical Support Secretary will undertake general office duties including the typing of medical and other correspondence, actioning any requirements identified within the typing. They will answer and manage calls from patients and their carers / relatives and other health and social care professionals.

The Edenfield Centre provides secure treatment for men and women in Greater Manchester. The unit is situated on the Prestwich site.

Our service provides individualised care and treatment for people with enduring mental health needs. A wide range of treatment is available including psychological and other therapeutic interventions and our clinical teams work collaboratively with the service user towards their recovery and discharge. clinical teams include a consultant psychiatrist, nurses, psychologists, occupational therapists and social workers.

We are looking to recruit a Medical Support Secretary to provide a comprehensive and confidential secretarial support service based at the Specialist Services Network, Medium Secure Unit at the Edenfield Centre, Prestwich.

You will need the ability to communicate with individuals at all levels and be able to deal with people effectively in a sympathetic manner.

The post holder will work as a member of the Medical Secretarial Team within the division. You will be responsible for providing a comprehensive, organised and efficient secretarial service to support the Forensic Consultant Psychiatrists and have the ability to prioritise requests and deal with conflicting demands and to meet tight deadlines.

Applicants must be reliable and have excellent audio typing, inter-personal and organisational skills.
