Grounds Maintenance Operative

Responsible for the delivery of Grounds Maintenance activities in line with the grounds maintenance plan for each site, you'll be tasked with ensuring the site standards are upheld on our many sites throughout the northwest. You'll be spending the majority of your day in the great outdoors and keeping yourself incredibly active in a physically demanding role.
**Job Accountabilities**
You will be part of a team accountable for undertaking grounds maintenance activities on a wide range of sites. You'll have specific guidelines to adhere to each day as well as ensuring your risk assessments are completed appropriately so you and everyone else on site is safe, legal and compliant.
You will also be accountable for:
- Grass Cutting (Formal Grass Areas and General Amenity Grass)
- Edging Grassed Areas
- Strimming
- Weed Control to Borders, Paths and Hardstandings
- Hoeing and Digging
- Pruning of Shrubs and Roses
- Hedge Maintenance
- Leaf Clearance
- Litter Picking and Leaf Sweeping
- Sweeping and Blowing Hard Surfaces
- Lawn Treatments
- Herbicide & Pesticide Applications
- Residual Weed Applications
- Aeration
- Bark Chipping and Mulching
- Power Washing of Hard Standing Areas
**Knowledge and Skills**
Like the rest of our existing team, we really want you to succeed in this role, and we'll provide you all the training and support required to make that happen.
From you, we'll need you to have the ability to demonstrate practical experience of Grounds Maintenance in an outdoor environment. Ideally, you'll be able to walk in and demonstrate practical experience in using grounds maintenance machinery such as ride on mowers, walk behind mowers, strimmers, blowers and hedge cutters. You will also have the following:
- A full UK driving license.
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to risk assess dynamically.
