**Human Resources Advisor - Maternity Cover**
We are currently looking to recruit an experienced HR Advisors initially on a 12-month contract at one of our secondary academies, The Stockwood Park Academy. This role has been created due to a colleague going on maternity leave. However, this role hasthe potential to be made permanent at the end of the fixed period due to the growth of our academies across our trust and the need for additional support. This is a highly varied and diverse role where no two days are the same, you will have the chance tocontinue to grow and gain experience within a highly successful trust and dedicated HR team.
We are looking for an HR Advisor to provide a comprehensive and professional service to line management and employees with advice, information and practical guidance concerning HR issues, including employment legislation and policy related matters. You willunderstand the role of a true generalist HR Advisor and will be able to work to tight deadlines delivering results when required. You will be able to implement and support organisational change and coach and support employees at all levels as well as completethe paperwork associated with a generalist. This role has a strong focus on employee relations and transactions. **JOB PURPOSE**
To support the Senior HR Advisor and Academy in the delivery and implementation of the Human Resources strategy across The Shared Learning Trust.
To ensure the cost effective, timely and efficient delivery of front line HR services. This role will be a generalist HR role with primary responsibilities for employee relations and transactions, including the paperwork associated with these designations.
**Main Duties and responsibilities**:
- To provide advice and guidance on all employee relations/change management matters to managers and staff across the academy. This will include, but is not limited to, disciplinary and grievance processes, absent management, redundancy, TUPE and performanceand capability procedures.
- Carry out employee relations and change management activities to ensure that employee relations and organisational change processes are delivered professionally, within agreed timeframes and fully meet best practice and legislative requirements.
- Manage an employee relations caseload as directed by the Senior HR Advisor and provide regular reports as required.
- Ensure effective monitoring of absence management and referrals to Occupational Health are carried out.
- Monitor both short and long-term sickness absence, advising line managers and ensuring that staff are managed in accordance with our Absence Management policy, to enable return to work at the earliest opportunity and that, where necessary, rehabilitationprogrammes are in place, liaising with external health providers or similar organisations.
- Ensure that reports are produced and circulated as required.
- Support the development and implementation of the portfolio of standard letters and documents within HR and to ensure these are constantly updated to meet legislation and best practice requirements.
- Assist with the updating of HR policies and procedures in line with legislation, ensuring that any relevant processes are aligned to any changes and that managers/staff receive appropriate briefings/training.
- Ensure that the Single Central Register is kept accurate and updated at all times
- Support the Principal and Recruitment Officer with the recruitment and selection processes as required ensuring that innovative and cost-effective solutions are utilised for the recruitment of staff and that appropriate assessment methods are used andsafeguarding procedures are adhered to. This may include attending interviews and training staff on interview skills and techniques.
- Provide support in relation to the administration and processing of new starter paperwork including; DBS documents and offer letters.
- Manage and maintain contracts, personnel files and other employee information
- To undertake administrative duties and assist the HR team as required.
- To assist with the monitoring and evaluation of the performance, standards and quality of The Shared Learning Trust in relation to their area of responsibility.
- To maintain an up to date knowledge of Equality and Diversity legislation ensuring that the highest standards are maintained and statutory requirements are fulfilled when developing HR policies and procedures, including Equality Impact Assessments, andthat The Trust Equality and Diversity policies and procedures are fully implemented.
- To maintain an up to date knowledge of Safeguarding legislation, ensuring that statutory requirements are fulfilled, highest standards are maintained and trust Safeguarding policies and procedures are implemented, in particular with regard to the recruitmentand retention of staff.
- To ensure that an up to date knowledge of Health and Safety legislation as applicable to the role is maintained and that trust Health and Safety policies and procedures are fully implemented and adhered to as applicable.
- Undertake any additional training highlighted by line management feedback.
- Lead by example to maintain a high standard of professionalism at all times.
- Any other duties commensurate with this role as directed by the Senior HR Advisor, HR Director and Principal.
