**Senior Support worker (Children's Residential Care)**

**Hourly Rate: 12 - 12.75 + 55 per sleep in (2-3 sleep in duties per week **=
**5,720 - 8,580 p/a)**

**Hours per week: 40.5**

**Requirements for the Senior Support worker (Children's Residential Care) role**:
Level 3/4 Residential Childcare (Children and Young People)

Willingness to complete Team Teach training

Ability to safeguard and promote the welfare of the children and young people

Good level of numeracy and literacy to maintain written records and reports.

**About the service**:
Our client provides therapeutic residential care to a small number of children between the ages of eight and eighteen, who present with emotional and behavioural difficulties. Therapeutic parenting approaches to care is used to help the children reach their full potential.

**Duties and Responsibilities of a Senior Support Worker (Residential Care)**:
Providing role modelling, guidance and training to junior members of staff

Carrying out Key Worker duties as directed by the Registered Manager

Recognising, responding and recording any safeguarding concerns in line with the safeguarding policy

Ensuring the safety and well-being of the children and young people

Working in line with each child/young person's risk assessment and support plans, as well encouraging them to be central in their care planning

Using therapeutic parenting techniques in daily practice

Developing and maintaining healthy relationship with the children and young people

Helping each child and young person to express their views and feelings and to advocate for them when needed

Ensuring that the home environment is maintained to promote a sense of order, safety and well-being and that it's in line with health and safety regulations
