The Assistant Bursar (Compliance) supports the Bursar in the day-to-day running of the Compliance Office and deputises in her absence. The post-holder will work very closely with the Bursar, the Personal Assistant to the Bursar and their colleagues in both the Finance Office and the HR Office and will oversee the work of the Compliance Assistant.

Key responsibilities include management of all school policies, preparing for school inspections by the Independent Schools Inspectorate, Health, safety and welfare, Premises, HR, Data Protection, Management and Governance. Experience of these specific areas within compliance are desirable and, although formal qualifications would be advantageous, they are not a requirement. Experience of working in an independent school is an advantage, as is experience of leading a team.

This is a full-time position and the hours of work are Monday to Friday 8.00am to 5.00pm (4.30pm on Friday and during school holidays). There may be some flexibility around the role being part time or term time plus a few weeks during the school holidays.

When full time, the role attracts 28 days annual leave, to be taken during the school holidays, in addition to Bank Holidays and the Christmas closure of the school (usually for two weeks).

The salary will be commensurate with the post and will depend upon qualifications and experience.
