The post holder will be required to support the junior team of the Emergency Medicine hub at Stoke Mandeville Hospital.

The post holder will work in all areas of the Emergency Department.

**Typical duties may include**:
Resuscitation and initial management of emergency cases in a team.

Management of other patients presenting to the ED

Admission of patients to inpatient teams for further management.

Clinical Audit and Clinical Governance

Participate in clinical audit across the department in line with Trust policy and guidelines.

Implement audit and research findings across the department.

Comply with the Trust clinical governance processes in a timely manner..

The Emergency Department cares for about 90,000 patients every year and our urgent care pathway is at the forefront of emergency medicine. We have already benefited from substantial investment and boast a brand new, purpose-built resuscitation area with a dedicated trauma and paediatric space and dedicated CT scanner. We have also invested in a brand-new state of the art Logiq P9 ultrasound machine, which has resulted in 2 active ultrasound machines in the department.

The Emergency Medicine Service Delivery Unit (SDU) is proud of its recently renovated Emergency Department and a combined Emergency Observation Unit (EOU). The improvements include the development of Rapid Assessment and Treatment (RAT), 5 bedded Resuscitation room with a dedicated trauma and paediatric space; and expansions and improvements throughout the major’s area. These improvements have enabled the SDU to reform the Emergency Care pathway
