We are currently seeking an expert individual to join this team in the role of Treasury Strat Associate.

This is a truly unique opportunity to join at the beginning of building a new function within HSBC’s Global Treasury function that will have a material impact on profitability and the way we do business. The strat function is responsible for analytics and tooling in support of the financial resource management function.

We are looking for people who have worked in a strat/quant function within the finance sector or who have experience of modelling and analytics within the Treasury space. You will lead specific workstreams to develop tools to measure and monitor risks to profitability. This includes, but is not limited to, balance sheet usage, funding costs, interest rate risk, liquidity risk, RWAs & capital covering multiple jurisdictions and regulatory regimes.

As part of a global team the role will involve working with multiple regional teams with a view to identifying best practice in terms of FRM and introducing those ideas and processes across regions.

In this role, you will:

- Deliver an enhanced toolset for optimisation of resources across multiple products, entities and constraints. Enable fast analysis to inform decision makers;
- Deliver fair outcomes for our customers and ensure own conduct maintains the orderly and transparent operation of financial markets. Promote an environment that reflects HSBC brand.

Requirements

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

- Extensive broad-based banking experience in financial services with preference for those who have focused on credit, rates, FX or cash management markets;
- Deep knowledge of software development and experience in a range of coding languages e.g. Python, C++;
- Experience in model development and lifecycle;
- Experience of building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders.

The base location for this role is London and with a hybrid working pattern.
