Senior Care and Support Worker
Location -City Wide (Various locations)

**Salary**: £28,854 - £34,057 (pro rata for part time)Enhanced payments are applicable for UnsocialHours (evening and weekends) Disruption and standby.
Hours: 36 per week (shift-based contracts which may include evening and weekendsworking. Sleepovers may be available service dependent)

We are looking for experienced staff to join our Supervisory team of Senior Care and Support Workers. Our Senior Care and Support workers engage in direct care delivery whilst also supporting frontline colleagues to develop their knowledge and skills.

Senior Care & Support Workers must have an HNC Care & SVQ3 or working towards it or a professional qualification to meet the requirements of SSSC registration.
The City of Edinburgh Council has 3 city-wide service which supports individuals with Learning Disabilities These are our Housing Support & Care at Home, Day service and Breakthrough n dir="ltr">Support Services. These are provided from building based hubs and have working buildings based
across the city with buildings at Craighall (Ferry Road), Castlecrags (Niddrie Mains) & Firrhill (Colinton Road). These buildings provide the space for the administrative role undertaken as a Senior Care and Support Workers when undertaking admin tasks, team meetings, 1-1 supervision and training/learning & development.

ir="ltr">We provide support services for adults with a diagnosis of Learning disability from the age of 16 with no reaching upper age limit who may have varying support needs. This includes people with complex care needs, autism spectrum disorder, mental health needs, behaviour that may challenge, forensic/ offending behaviour, or a combination of these. pan dir="ltr">We as services are committed to using a Positive Behavioural Support model, which we are currently developing /implementing using the PBS framework with our partners in Health. The role of the Senior Care and Support Worker is varied. You will lead and manage a team of dir="ltr">Care and Support Workers to promote individualised and person-centred support to Service Users within their own homes or within day support or breakthrough services enabling and supporting individuals to meet their physical, social, emotional and well-being needs.

**Requirements**:
You will be expected to develop and maintain a strong focus on partnership working with professionals and key stakeholders in developing robust support plans including Positive Behavioural Support, community engagement and future planning. Support-Works, Castlecrags and Firrhill services work in partnership with NHS Lothian working closely with the (FAST) Team - Forensic Assessment, Support & Treatment Team, (SPBS) Team - Specialist Positive Behaviour Support Team and (CLDN) Team - Community Learning Disability Nursing Team You will work closely with our heath partners and attend multi-disciplinary team meetings, producing comprehensive individual support plans and risk management plans which identify appropriate support strategies and management of risk for those we support.

We are committed to and invest in continuous professional development for our colleagues and all appropriate training for the post will be provided. We will support staff to attain the required qualifications to meet registration with SSSC for the role they are employed for.

- The City of Edinburgh Council considers adults with a learning disability to be ‘complex’ if: they present chronic or episodic challenging behaviours, are workforce intensive, require intervention from two or more agencies, could pose a risk to themselves and/or others, and have specific needs for which there is no sustainable “ordinary” community support system available.
