**About this opportunity**
- We are looking to recruit a new Programme Lead for our Infrastructure Planning team, to work as part of the council's Sustainable Transport and Highways service. Our work contributes to improving connectivity and resilience in line with the Cumbria Transport Infrastructure Plan, and is a key part of making sure Westmorland & Furness is a great place to live, work and thrive.
Our team’s exciting programme of work includes: developing proposals and securing funding for transport improvements; inputting into spatial strategy and infrastructure requirements to support a new Local Plan; shaping transport policies and projects to support economic growth and the environment; and leading on the Council’s engagement in nationally significant projects.
As a Programme Lead, you will be responsible for managing colleagues working on projects to identify and develop infrastructure and strategies. You will provide leadership and direction for these projects, and work with stakeholders, senior officers and elected members to provide expert advice and secure delivery funding. You will also manage and work with technical specialists in external consultancies.
